ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ted Landers earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo; he continued his education to earn Masters Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the New York University at Stony Brook. Upon completion of college he received his New York State Teaching Certificate in Animal Science. He taught a high school vocational Equine Science program for 31 years at the Wilson Technological Center in Dix Hills, New York. He also served as coordinator and professor of the Equine Studies program at Long Island University (C. W. Post Campus). He is currently a New York licensed thoroughbred trainer based at Belmont Park.
Landers is an active a member of various Horse Organizations such as the New York Thoroughbred Horseman's Association and the New York State Equine Educators Association. Landers has written three other horse-related books: Professional Care of the Racehorse, The Career Guide to the Horse Industry and Insider's Guide to Horseracing. He now resides in Floral Park, New York with his wife Jeriann and their daughter Meghan.
